In 2009, Milan was considered the fashion capital, even surpassing cities such as New York, Paris, Rome and London.

There are also many boutiques in the city of international fashion houses, such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hennes & Mauritz and Ralph Lauren.Due times a year, is held in Milan Fashion Week, as is the case in New York, London, Paris , Tokyo and Los Angeles.
The area where the Milanese fashion is more prevalent is known as the fashion district, surrounded by the Via Monte Napoleone, Manzoni, della Spiga and Corso Venezia. Other important channels are the shopping Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza Duomo, Via Dante and Corso Buenos Aires.
